Young Social Innovators are delighted to be one of ten youth-led climate justice projects funded by the Department of Education and Youth. The projects taking place across Ireland in 2026, are part of Government’s ongoing commitment to supporting young people to lead on climate change within their own communities. See the Department’s press release issued in April.
Since its establishment in 2020, the Youth Climate Justice Fund has provided almost €3.5 million in support to youth-led initiatives underpinned by Government’s continued investment in empowering young people to play an active role in climate action.
Lorraine Doyle, Social Innovation Development Manager at Young Social Innovators, said:
While many teams in our Activate programme have designed projects around climate change, YSI is delighted to run a project focused entirely on climate justice. The need for climate literacy, youth leadership, and civic engagement has never been so pressing and I look forward to seeing the creative outputs from the busy schedule of workshops that our Local Leader, Joy Redmond, will be facilitating over the coming months.
