Gorey, Co. Wexford is the chosen location for Young Social Innovators’ Youth Climate Justice project. Weekly workshops will be held in two centres in the town – Gorey Youth Reach and Gorey Youth Needs Group.

12 learners from Gorey Youth Reach will participate in the Youth Climate Justice project starting in September 2026 as part of their weekly timetable.

The remaining 12 places are open for anyone aged 16-21 with an interest in learning more about climate justice. Creativity comes in many forms and is not limited to people who are good at traditional art such as painting and drawing. The workshops will be held in Gorey Youth Needs Group CLG, Mary Ward Lane, St. Michael’s Road, Gorey on Thursday afternoons.

Mandi Tighe, CEO of Gorey Youth Needs Group, said:

We, at Gorey Youth Needs Group (GYNG), welcome the opportunity to work with Young Social Innovators after following their work in social and community action for some time. Social justice is an issue core to GYNG and this presents a wonderful opportunity for young people in Gorey. We look forward to seeing the creativity that emerges from a group of young people exploring climate justice guided by Gorey woman Joy Redmond.
